[google-cloud-sql-discuss] Re: Connection with Client Tool

Troy,

Have you whitelisted the IP from where you're using the Sequel Pro tool? What error are you seeing when you try to connect?

I can connect via the command line from my application and from the google cloud shell.

If anyone has any thoughts it would be great.

[google-cloud-sql-discuss] Re: Cloud Certifications contact

While this forum is generally aimed at community support and advice for the use of Cloud SQL, I agree that there does not appear to be any obvious email point of contact for this on the web page.  We may be able to forward your questions/concerns to the appropriate team.  For this, we'd need a little more detail.
  • What specific questions do you have about Cloud Certifications?
  • I currently see 3 professional offerings: Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, G Suite Administrator.  Are your questions specific to any of these 3 certifications?
  • Have you reviewed the FAQ pages of each of these certifications?
With the above information, I may be able to pass these along to the most appropriate individuals to address your issues.

[google-cloud-sql-discuss] Re: What should I do if instance hangs and does not respond?

Hi Илья Вайсер,

On a private message, can you provide your project ID and the name of the Cloud SQL instance, so I can further investigate this issue?

Also, let me know what kind of changes you make and how did you make them?

As per you previous reply, it appears that the issue is not happening anymore.

Re: [google-cloud-sql-discuss] SQL file import - ERROR 2013 (HY000) at line 2732: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

It does not depend on the size of the server. It is related to the dump format. A normal dump made with mysqldump does not work in Google Cloud SQL

Can you check Cloud Logging for your instance to see if there are logs from MySQL when this happens?
You could try using a larger instance during the import and then switch to a smaller instance when you're done.

CloudSQL for PostgreSQL is in beta, available for all customers now.
We are keeping an eye on stability and working on adding more features, but I'm afraid we can't share plans for a formal GA yet.

Re: [google-cloud-sql-discuss] can't remotely access any Cloud SQL Gen 1 server!

Cloud SQL instances could have different SSL settings which could be a triggering a bug in MySQL workbench or elsewhere.
Since upgrading MySQL workbench version fixes the problem, it may not be worth the effort figuring it exactly why the old version of workbench is failing.

Re: [google-cloud-sql-discuss] SQL file import - ERROR 2013 (HY000) at line 2732: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

It sounds like MySQL could be crashing during the import (perhaps running out of memory?)
Can you check Cloud Logging for your instance to see if there are logs from MySQL when this happens?
You could try using a larger instance during the import and then switch to a smaller instance when you're done.
