[google-cloud-sql-discuss] Re: Trouble connecting to google cloud's MySQL server through firewall

Hello Iwanna,

Form your post I understand you are trying to connect to Cloud SQL instance through authorized networks. As you suggesting that firewall for port 3306 is already configured, please check if you work's network IP address has been added to Cloud SQL authorized network list inside Authorization tab. You can check and configure this from the cloud console GUI. Please follow this documentation[1] for the detailed steps.

Please note that default port number for connecting MySQL instance is 3306 and this should be configured on firewall for the Cloud SQL connection.

I hope it helps.

Hello.

I'm having trouble connecting to google cloud's MySQL server through my work's network, which is behind a firewall. From what I have found out the port google's MySQL server is using is 3306. Is this the port I should open on the firewall? From what I know this port has been already opened for another user for the same purpose. Will there be any conflict with that?
I can connect fine from my home's network so I guess it is the firewall to be blamed. I'm using MySQL workbench.

Thank you for your time.
