[google-cloud-sql-discuss] Re: Slow response (cross-posted to Stack Overflow)

Hi James,

You can do performance tuning for Cloud SQL 2nd generation using the link at [1][2].

Since your question is not a discussion about GCP product, I would suggest that you post such questions on StackOverflow in future as Google Groups are reserved for general product discussion, StackOverflow for technical questions whereas Issue Tracker for product bugs and feature requests. To get a better support you should post to the relevant forum. Please read the Community Support [3] article for better understanding

We are now in beta test on an application that runs in Tomcat 8 servers running in a Google Compute instance group, accessing a shared Google 2nd Generation MySQL server, through the Google Cloud SQL Proxy.

And we're running into a performance problem. Things that are taking 2 seconds for hundreds of thousands of records in a our Tomcat developer's private environment are taking 6 seconds in a production environment.

I wondered if the Proxy could be slowing things down, but I just ran a test from my own Mac, with 2 Sequel Pro sessions, one accessing the server directly, and one accessing it through the Proxy; the Proxy is faster.

Any idea where I should start looking for a bottleneck?
