Re: [google-cloud-sql-discuss] Can't restore to other instance via cloud console

5.5 vs 5.6

When I changed the restore database to 5.6 as well it popped up in the target instance dropdown and all seems ok. Thanks. (is there a way of upgrading an existing DB?)
My only problem now is the 3 "ghost" instances that was created during my tests. One of them has a rented ipv4 address and I can't even change that one. Should I start a new Thread about that problem?

Can you double check that the new instance is the same MySQL version as the one you are trying to restore from?

Attached two images.
The first one shows my instances, including the one at the top that is newly created.
The second one shows the restore screen with target instance dropdown opened.

The three non working instances was created by creating a replica of the -db database, promote them to their own instance and then restore to them (yes, i could restore to a detached replica but only once). After the restore, it fails to load and when i trying to delete them i get the message that this instance id is not valid, so now they are stuck.

My main issue here is that I need to look at the data from the 4th of April, but since I don't know how to get more saved backups my time is quickly running out.

No, it should work. Can you post a screenshot of the 'restore' dialog?

According to documentation its possible to restore to another instance via the cloud console (web interface).
I have done that before, but now the other instances are not shown in the list of target instances.
Have the requirements changed for which databases you can restore to, and if so, how do i make them compatible?
