Re: Can't Connect AppEngine project to Could SQL in Eclipse Plugin

A few things to check:

Does the instance name have the format project_name:instance_name?
Can you leaving root/passwd blank?
Does the Test Connection button return a successful ping?

Thank you, Chicago. i've logged out, then logged in again and tried to create new Google Cloud SQL connection  with root/blankstring - still get this error :(
And i use one account for GAE, Eclipse and Cloud SQL access.  I have tokens for GAE, GWT and gdt in ~/.java/.userPrefs directories in prefs.xml files, but there are no any prefs.xml in .../com/google/cloud/.... Should i have this directories and files for Eclipse? Maybe i'd create it manually?

I was able to solve this issue.  Check the Google ID you are logged into the Eclipse App Engine plugin with (bottom right hand corner of Eclipse). This account needs to have access to Cloud SQL.  Then pass root and an empty password when setting up the Cloud SQL database in Eclipse.
