As I make my way around kicking the tires on Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, I'm looking at monitoring and error reporting. It looks like everything is just handed off to Stackdriver, which is a totally separate service with it's own costs? It wasn't clear to me what reporting and notification is included with the Cloud SQL instance (if any). Otherwise it seems like a "gotcha" buried/hidden cost.
-- I'm curious to see what others might be doing in this space to get notifications based on monitoring thresholds or log metrics.
