connection to google cloud sql falied.- com.google.cloud.sql.Driver

Managed to create instance 

got local sql command line working

run some basic sql commands via command line

got to ths part in the tutorial 

https://developers.google.com/cloud-sql/docs/external#prerequisites 

DriverManager.registerDriver(new com.google.cloud.sql.Driver());

 Could not find class 'com.google.cloud.sql.Driver'

altough included the correct jar file it cannot find  

any idea?
