Re: Error when attempting to add authorized apps

Hi Joe, I would like to ask for your help regarding my Google App Engine related problem.

I am experiencing problem with exception- Request was aborted after waiting too long to attempt to service your request. the same issue described here (and marked as obsolete)

I cannot post my issue to the issue tracker as it is public and my app id and clients id (adleritech@adleritech.com) are subject to NDAs.

My app id is: adler-taxi-dev

I wonder if you can please suggest what next steps should I do to avoid/investigate this problem to admin email associated with this app.

I am running performance tests that run 500 paralel threads that are calling google protobuf Rest API each every 5 seconds or so (rump up time is split so that all threads start in time period of half a minute.
Here are my statistics from the test - I guess Latency 16730.0 ms and 10334.0 ms with requests = 1 may be related to new instance being started (they also have youngest age).
QPS* Latency* Requests Errors Age Memory Logs Availability
1.133 399.6 ms 1268 0 0:07:25 117.8 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.017 16730.0 ms 1 0 0:01:06 94.1 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.000 0.0 ms 387 0 0:07:15 115.4 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.017 10334.0 ms 1 0 0:01:05 96.1 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.000 0.0 ms 338 0 0:07:24 112.8 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.000 0.0 ms 133 0 0:07:23 111.2 MBytes View Logs Dynamic
0.000 0.0 ms 7 0 0:07:15 104.7 MBytes View Logs Dynamic

I have tried fiddling with minimum Pending Latency and Idle Instances administration options for our app to no avail. We are using F4_1G instances together with D32 Google cloud db.
If you are not the right person, could you please forward my email to someone from google app engine support team (with CC to me), thanks a lot.

Hi Pavel

For performance reasons we try to keep your Cloud SQL instance as close as possible to the top authorized App Engine application. As a result Cloud SQL instances in the EU can only be accessed from App Engine instances in the EU, and similarly for the US. Apologies if the documentation isn't clear on this, we will be clarifying it.

At the moment EU locations are only available to App Engine's premier customers. I know there's a lot of you guys in Europe using App Engine who are not on premier accounts, and we hope to be able to help you out as soon as possible.

Hi, Ken, thanks for the info.

So I understand that to be able to use EU DB instance from my GAE application, this application must be also in EU. However I tried to create new application (itaxi-test) and have not found any settings where to specify location for new application.

Could you please advice how to create new GAE application in EU, so that it can be authorized in my EU db instance?

Thanks for help
Pavel

We don't allow US instances to be associated with EU apps and vice versa.  A fix for the error message is pending release.

Hi, I am having also this issue. My DB instance is:

adleritech.com:adler-itaxi:adler-taxi-test

I try to authorize following application
adler-taxi2

I have no problem authorizing adler-taxi2 for instance adleritech.com:adler-itaxi:adler-taxi created under same account. It seems to be related to different location - adleritech.com:adler-itaxi:adler-taxi-test is created in European Union while adleritech.com:adler-itaxi:adler-taxi is in US.

Please mail me some suggestions privately to jety[AT]inmite.eu, thanks.

Whenever I attempt to authorize an app, I get " An unexpected error has occurred. We're looking into it. " and nothing changes.  Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I just have to sit back and wait for an undetermined amount of time?
